Origin of the Mermaid

The earliest mermaid’s legend comes from Syria around 1000 B.C. The stories begin when the God of Artagatis dove into the water in form of a mermaid.  But the power only makes the God to change in the form in half fish and half human.  As time goes by, there are many tales and legend about the creature of half fish and half human. The tales includes that the mermaids is actually an evil creature that will drown man. The mermaids will sing a song and seduce man with an extreme beauty and tempting song that will hypnotize man to get close to the mermaid. The mermaid will pull them into the depth of water and drown them.  In the modern myth about mermaids, many believe that mermaid is a sweet and helpful creature that possesses a great beauty. People even creating cartoon series of mermaid. Which is The Little Mermaids.
